I was listening to ESPN 1000 (Silvy and Waddle) on the way down this morning and Bruce Levine was on at about 9:20. He said that besides all of the injury drama with Z, there is friction between him and some of his teammates.

Levine stated that Z called Theiot out for not making the play on Tuesday night (Hunter Pence infield hit is all I could assume there) and that several teammates are taking issue with this.

Let me say that this is not word for word, but pretty damn close.

It amazes me that he can call out teammates but when he messes up he just smiles and acts as if it's no big deal.

I'm getting tired of his act.

I mean c'mon, Z's been doing this for years. I'm sure his teammates don't like it, but it is what it is. Is this really a new development?

There's nothing wrong with Zambrano calling Theriot out, as long as he does it in the clubhouse. He SHOULD call Theriot out after he crow hops three times, which results in Pence reaching base.

This is a non-story. Or at least it should be.

I thought he broke bats and destroyed Gatorade coolers when he messed up?

I'm talking about his on field antics.

So should his teammates call him out when he walks 5 and 6 hitters a game? I don't recall them ever doing it. It's called being a team, not an individual.

Let the coaches coach and do the calling out.

So he's calm and cool when on the mound even when he's doing poorly?

Z just can't win with people. I agree, just get him healthy. This is a non story.

This is a non-story. Were people really under the impression that these 25 guys were all friends?

There's bound to be guys who don't like other guys. They didn't choose each other as teammates.

BTW, smiles when he messes up? wtf?

That's the last way I'd describe Z's actions when he screws up.

During the press conferences he does. Do you think THAT goes over well with teammates?

There have been plenty of times Z smiles and shakes his head in disbelief if he gives up a HR, or if a teammate doesn't make a play.

I'll bet this is a non story and Levine was just stirring the pot. However, I do think that Z needs to STHU when it comes to showing up his teammates.

It's totally and completely unacceptable.

I also don't get why some people are so offended by people's facial expressions. Some people make a face that resembles a smile when they're expressing frustration. I do it. Lots of athletes do it. Lots of people do it. Is he supposed to force a frown or something? I've seen people make the same comments about Grossman when he makes a dumb play or something and it baffles me.

I mean, obviously you don't think he's expressing happiness or that he's thinking it's funny, right? Seriously...wtf?

I know of a few Brewers fans who were driven nuts by Yost's smiling as Rome burnt around him last year.

That's BS if he called out Theriot for that. It's not like it happens every day. When Z becomes perfect then he can start getting on others. Worry about yourself. When I took the Cubs tour Z's locker was at the very end, furthest away from everyone, with an empty one next to it. I didn't figure that was an accident.
