Health reports of the Cubs' pitching staff may be going from bad to worse as Lou Piniella admitted today for the first time that right-hander Rich Harden is experiencing "discomfort."

 

Piniella said Harden, who hasn't pitched since Aug. 29, will next pitch Wednesday against St. Louis. That will be a spotlight start similar to Zambrano's on Tuesday. Zambrano also was coming off an extended rest.

 

Harden has a history of injury.

Lou first lcaims he's skipping Harden's start as a precaution, then he eventually admits something isn't right....then the next day finally admits there's discomofrt. Meanwhile Harden keeps claiming he's fine. Then after he game Lou is all "Oh, I guess it was Z's arm or something.. I don't know". Yeah Lou, I'm sure you aren't aware of why he had to leave the game. Now Lou is being all vague again about the Z MRI stuff. It was available to him, but he didn't take it? What the hell does that mean? Just be straight with us.

Heh, Lou does the weird pretend to be senile/don't know what's going on act all the time.

 

ETA: I'm sure he does it to be vague and make it hard to sift through what he really means. He's done it with non injuries too. Don't know what to make of the Z missing the MRI when he had it available to him.
