I think what Piniella is going to do is more along these lines:

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Hoffpauir RF

Soto

Edmonds

Derosa- or Fontenot if he wants another LH

Why would you want your best hitter have few at-bats this late in the season? ARam hitting 5th makes no sense.

I like it. It's aggressive.

Aggressive and bad are synonyms now?

I know we have the best offense in the NL, but I don't mind with Lou fiddling with the lineup right now, as long as it's right now while there's still a month left. That leaves time to see if it works or not, and then tweak again. Lee really isn't performing and needs to be moved down. I don't like Lee in the 2 over Theriot, when riot has 30 points more OBP (.391) than Lee.

Derreck had an awesome April, but doesn't seem to be a power threat now, let's see what he can do batting 6 or 7.

I really hope that his lineup changes involve moving Lee down in the order. We have far too many good hitters for him to be hitting 3rd.

If I felt the Cubs needed to revamp the lineup (which I don't) and that any Cub would agree to hit anywhere in said lineup (which they wouldn't), I'd probably go:

Theriot - with the caveat that he is no longer allowed to steal anything unless the pitcher completely ignores him and then tosses the ball to the backstop

i would think that it's a poor idea to have the leading obp on the team hitting 9th.

not to mention a poor idea having hoffpauir playing rf.

He may have the highest OBP on the team, but he also has the lowest OPS+/EqA of any regular in the lineup outside of Kosuke (who he is barely higher than)... With his OBP, though, he might actually be a nice fit in the nine spot if the Cubs were ever to go with that kind of lineup.

I can't necessarily argue on the Hoff-power part though.
