If ours is the best team in the NL, this has to be the weakest season in senior circuit history.

Can you possibly be serious?

This team is going to have a win total somewhere in the high 90s, possibly 100+, it has one of the best run differentials of the past decade, and is 30+ games over .500.

Are you freaking kidding or what?

Do you think great teams don't lose 4 games in a row sometimes?

I want Jose Valverde beaten with a rubber hose.

a wet towel

a hamer

and a few other things

I really wish he would pull a Gramatica and pull a muscle when he celebrates. That would be hilarious.

Just too bad that hit ball he took to the noggin wasnt hit hard enough to do any damage.

I hate when his eyes pop out.

well, the bunt obviously worked out great, so we know who is right.

Nice Dusty Baker hindsight argument. Well played.

There was also the foresight, the statistics, and the fact that it's bloody stupid to bunt with Dero when you've got what'shisface batting next

That's okay. You tried to criticize and you were wrong. Buck up and keep shooting for that rainbow.

A) you confirmed that you don't know what statistically significant means,

B) you missed the point: you sound exactly like that stubborn little kid who won't acknowledge not just why he's wrong, but that he's wrong.

So, umm, why is nobody talking about Zambrano? The fact that they've said ntohing about why he was lifted is not good.

I would think that if there were something to say, Len or Bob would've said it by now.

Maybe Lou will address it in the postgame if he's not too pissed off.

This last post and "that's nice" do not qualify as effective arguments.

LOL. Your team is out of the playoffs and you put on a showing like that on the mound. What a joke.

I think they think they're alive for the wild card

Beating the Cubs are the closest to the playoffs the Astros are going to get this yr.

I hope Lou rips into his team. Not publicly (doesn't serve a purpose) but behind close doors. You CANNOT get swept at home by the lowlife Astros who are without Cub killer Carlos Lee. You cannot be swept.

it's better than any argument you pooped out on that last page.

Equating your argument with something I would poop out. That's about right.

A.) Ummm, sorry. Feel free to keep pushing that, though.

B.) Irony.

Be thankful for the fact that despite hitting this slide, we are still 5 games up in the loss column and 4.5 games up overall.

It could be a lot worse. They'll turn it around. In fact, today would have probably been a fairly easy win if not for Bobby freaking Howry (really, Lou Piniella), but I digress. Yep, it would've definitely been nice to gain on Milwaukee while they were losing these games, but we're going to withstand streaks like this at times.

i'll believe that we win again this season when i see it.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Cubs aren't as good as we thought they were.

They're still the best team in the league.

Lots of Goats in this game.

Jim Edmonds grounds into a double play in the 1st with the bases loaded and 1 out. We only get a run that inning. He did hit a game tying HR,so he is the least of the problems tonight.

Bob Howry and his usual display of bad pitching.

Derrek Lee grounds into a double play in the 8th with the bases loaded and then whiffs in extras with a runner on second. He's a total mess.

However, Piniella is the biggest Goat of all of them. What the hell kind of managing was that tonight?
