you're going to keep randy johnson?

No. And I didn't say that I was going to keep him. I said I was glad he decided to implode during an off week. The negative points from Brandon Webb is what I don't mind to try to keep Webb, Oswalt, Holliday and V.Wells under the cap. They are currently sitting at 1701.

i don't know if i've ever kept a non-exempt SP that pitched a whole season...especially now that they score more points. i am tempted to keep peavy due to his shortened season, but he's still got a bunch of points.

You're definitely going to have some tough decisions to make.

peavy, teix, rollins and hawpe are at 1,717. i'd be happy with those guys as my keepers, i suppose. kinda wish peavy hadn't had that huge start last week...

looks like prince, soriano and others will be on the block...

This is my current keeper wish list. Unfortunately, there are 4 names too many on this list. But, I should be able to trade some of the guys that don't make the cut for draft picks or minor leaguers. If I had to make the cuts today, Carlos Marmol, Johnny Cueto, Ubaldo Jimenez and Jacoby Ellsbury would be my casualties, making my official keeper list:

yeah, if i don't win it, i'll be pulling for alamo. we were both short-handed in the championship week, but i was really lucky to get some big starts on the last day of the season (if i remember right) to come from behind and win.

Yeah, if memory serves me right, Ubaldo had a huge game for you. Also, you had Rich Hill who was expected to throw a shortened 3-4 inning outing but got 6 innings because he was throwing a no-hitter.

yep...went back and looked it up.

ubaldo: 6 1/3, 1 h, 4 bb, 1 er, 10 k's.

hill: 6 ip, 1 h, 1 bb, 0 er, 4 k's.

looking at hill's 2007 game log makes me sad. :(

That Rich Hill start killed me. I was expecting 3 innings, like 10 points. Basically what Lackey and Beckett gave me. You took the lead from there and Ubaldo just made it impossible for me to catch up. For some reason, I was forced to start Pelfrey too which was a disaster.

worst part about the injury is him possibly losing his second start.
Actually that would be a good thing. How something affects the Cubs is infinitely more important than how it affects your fantasy team.

whether sheets starts doesn't have any effect on the cubs.

It makes it more likely that the Brewers will lose if he doesn't start. That shouldn't affect the Cubs if they take care of business, but it conceivably could.

not really. the cubs don't even have to pay attention to the brewers. the only team that matters is the team behind the brewers in the WC race.

If you're just talking about making the playoffs you're right. If you're talking about having home field advantage in the playoffs (which I am) you're wrong. I'd happily sacrifice your fantasy playoff results to get home field advantage for the Cubs. :D

i think i'd rather play the mets/phillies without HFA than play the dbacks with HFA. of course, potentially playing the brewers in the NLCS w/o HFA may not be good.

Is the championship match 2 weeks long?

If memory serves me correctly, I believe so. I've only been there once before!

i think it's only one week now though it used to be two. though i've been there so many times, it's hard for me to keep track.

But, there's 4 weeks of playoffs.

Week 1: 2nd vs. 3rd

Week 2: 1st vs. winner of week 1

Week 3: winner of each divisional playoff final

Week 4: ??

All I can figure is that week 3 is two weeks long.

if the white sox are counting on danks being worth a [expletive] in the postseason, they're going to be very disappointed. he's clearly hit his wall for the season.

sure wish i could have traded him for cliff lee. :(
