Cards should untuck their jerseys after fatty makes the final out

The Post-Dispatch quoted a couple anonymous Cards who said "we aren't big fans of that."

The Rockies are up 1-0. If they win they are 4.5 games behind the D-Backs. I would love to play them in the first round instead of Arizona.

Have they passed the Dodgers yet?

No. The Dodgers are 3 back.

Cards announcers acting like that win put them right back in the race.

Let the small minds rejoice at their small victory. We gained another game on Milwaukee and that's all that matters.

Oh that was actually a good slider.

You sound surprised. He has excellent stuff.

I know you guys just follow the Cubs, but you should know that Chris Perez is one of the top 2-3 closing prospects in all of baseball.

I don't know why you Cub fans are even so concerned about the Brewers? It would take a miracle of epic proportions for them to not make the post season. Just worry about how they do when they get there. I know it's the Cubs and they always suck and yada, but you clearly are making the playoffs.

I'd like to see your list of "closing prospects."

And Cirillo finally acknowledges why Villy's rant was out of line.

Schroeder and Anderson missed it during the game.

Can't help it. If we all accepted that we were locks for the playoffs, then what the hell would we do for the next 29 games? The Cubs fans are used to clinching the last couple days of the season, having such great odds in late August is something we refuse to grasp.

Also, the Dodgers have lost the first 2 to the NATIONALS. Jerks.

Haven't you heard? The NL West bandwagon is hooked on the Rockies now.

For me it's more about wanting to clinch the division as soon as possible.

Clinching in that last home series would be pretty awesome.

you aren't a cub fan.

Perez is pretty widely known to be an excellent closer prospect. But I don't think that he's even the best closer prospect in the STL farm system. Jason Motte has 105/25 K/BB in 63 AAA innings.

also don't want to have to play important games in NY in late September.

also. Ron already is planning on skipping the swan song for Shea... I wonder if he'd change his mind if the Cubs were set to potentially clinch there.

Motte is excellent as well, but wasn't really on the radar until this season.

Anyone who doesn't know about Chris Perez, just doesn't follow baseball's minor leagues.

The Livan Hernandez from the 07 NLDS has decided to show up in SF...

He's outdueling Lincecum right now

Wow. Is that because he'll just be taking some last days off before the playoffs, or he just refuses to go there because he hates it?
