1) I hate it when people call Mark Cuban the "maverick owner" as if they're making a clever pun because he owns the Mavericks. This is done far too often and has become far too annoying, but that's another thread in another forum for another time.

 

2) Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it established that Canning was out as one of the potential buyers? SSR is right, this article sounds like it came several months too late to the party

Hank Aaron is a small part of a group that has been in the bidding from the beginning. He's just a face, along with a couple other guys, on the board of a company whose sole purpose is to try and buy a sports franchise.

It's basically a scam investment group that they paid off Aaron to be associated with. One of those firms that will probably cut payrroll and milk the team for all it's worth. They just care about profit.
