How in the world did the Cubs lose two of three to these Nationals?

The meat of the Nationals order:

 

Kearns grounds out, Milledge and Belliard strike out. Yeesh.

 

1-1, middle of the 4th. Fielder, Hart, Counsell due up.

Both lineups look pretty bad today. Counsell-Kapler-Kendall doesn't instill much fear.

 

There's never a good time for injury, but Braun's injury couldn't have been better timed for the Brewers, playing the punchless Nats and Pads coming up. If there are any games that an offense can absorb the loss of a player like that, it's those kind of games.

I never knew that I hated the Nationals until this series.

I knew it was unrealistic to hope the Nationals might steal one from the Brewers however, the Brewers are off to the West Coast after this series. Starting with the Padres they'll face Peavy and Maddux, there's a real good chance the Padres will take at least one from the Brewers.

Yup, but Peavy is matched up with CC Sabathia who is pretty much untouchable to anyone that's not the Cubs, so thats a wasted pitching matchup, and of course Sheets is matched up with Maddux. The other game is Suppan vs. Baek or whatever his name is, who actually has a 6.93 ERA at Petco
