Boise's 3b coach (their manager Tom Beyers) sent Josh Vitters from 2nd on a single to LF...the outfielder had already thrown the ball towards home as Vitters was about 6 feet from hitting third base. Clearly Quade IS the best third base coach in the system.

...

Vitters is 1 for 3 with a single.

David Cales (24th rounder from St. Xavier) was promoted from Mesa to Boise. He's in the game now.

Boise gets a walk off RBI single from Josh Vitters in the bottom of the 9th inning.

Drew Rundle got an infield single, took third base on an errant pickoff throw and scored the winning run on that Vitters RBI single.

Outstanding Boise debut for Cales. 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 5/0 K/BB, 3 GO-1 FO

He was filthy, has an interesting 3/4 delivery. Struck out the side in the 8th.

MiLB.com[/url]"]Hoffpauir homered in his first four at-bats Saturday to tie the modern Pacific Coast League mark and power the Iowa Cubs to a record-setting 15-3 victory over the Round Rock Express at the Dell Diamond.

The 28-year-old first baseman became the third player in PCL history to homer in four consecutive at-bats and the fifth player in the league's modern history to slug four roundtrippers in a single contest.

Hoffpauir also tied the team record for homers in a game set by Wade Rowdon on June 9, 1987 against Oklahoma City. The last PCL player with four homers in a game was Las Vegas' Eddie Williams on April 22, 1998 against Calgary.

"I've been working on trying to stay short on my swing and not try to do too much, and the patience and practice paid off," Hoffpauir said. "I never hit more than two homers in a game and after the third one, the guys were starting to get on me a bit.

The left-handed hitter, who has 19 home runs this season, slugged a fastball to center field in the first inning, belted a changeup over the fence in right in the third, smacked another fastball to left-center in the sixth and ripped a slider to center leading off the eighth.

"It was a lot of fun," Hoffpauir said. "And Round Rock isn't too far from home [Fort Worth], so I had a lot of family here. That made it all the more special."

He came to bat during a seven-run ninth with a chance to tie Pete Schneider's 1923 all-time PCL mark with a fifth homer but flied to right.

"I don't think the pitchers made bad pitches tonight," he said, "I was just able to hit them."

Didn't Harvey hit 4 homers in a game last year? This might be a bad omen for Micah

Significant difference: Micah has a) hit above .240 and b) walked at least once this decade.
