TV analyst Bob Brenly will miss Friday's game because he's flying to Boise to watch his son, Michael, a recently drafted Cubs farmhand who is off to a good start. The Cubs are off Thursday and Monday, and national networks carry the games Saturday and Sunday. Dan Plesac will fill in for Brenly Friday.

Danny P was awfully excited about the White Sox winning tonight. Hey, Dan, stay on the South side if you want. He was calling Swisher: "Dirty 30 " after the walkoff and was as excited as Ken Harrelson was at the end of the game.

Couldn't they have had Bill Melton fill in? I GUARANTEE you that Melton would NEVER fill in for the Cubs, so why did Plesac?

Maybe cause Plesac wants to be a color guy someday? Honestly, why does it matter? I guarantee you Plesac is not looking at Melton thinking if Melton won't fill in for the Cubs, I'm not gonna fill in for the Sox.

Plesac didn't do too badlt in the Sox game tonight. Certainly better than the usual Hawk/DJ banter.

A mute and a seven-year-old girl with a lisp would do better than the Hawk/DJ banter.

Plesac is still better than Joe Carter, Randy Hundley or Dave Otto

Agreed.

Or you could be in St. Louis and be stuck with McLaughlin and Hrabosky, the fellow who makes Santo seem intelligible.

It watched a little bit of the game and it seemed like Hawk Harrelson enjoyed working with Plesac.

I found it funny that at the end of the game, Hawk signed off with "Sox win, Sox win". I don't know if it was just the way he did it that night or if he was trying to parody/mock the Cubs broadcast.

Cubs fans should not fixate any attention on the Sox inferiority complex. That's what they want.

The proper response is, "oh, you wish you were as cool as us, cute." And then move on.

Of course he did. That's what the whole organization and their fan base is all about. Hell, they flew an L flag in their front office after they won a game against us at the Cell.

It's amazing to me, since I don't live in Chicago, the stark differences in Cubs and White Sox fans.

I just don't get it.
