I'm beginning to understand Marmol more now.

 

His slider is usually good, but his fastball is the key to his success. When he was scuffling, he couldn't locate his fastball and ended up getting clobbered when people sat on his slider when he had to throw it for strikes.

Len and Bob were talking about that a few games ago, before the Brewers series, I believe. They noted the same thing you just did about when he was able to locate his fastball, he was fine. It was when he couldn't that he started walking people that got him into trouble.
