We have a 7 run lead in the 9th. Why waste the Shark? Wouldn't this have been a good spot for Eyre or Cotts to get some work in? What am I missing here?

just post it in the game thread dude, don't start a new thread about it

Or you know, the thread titled "The Jeff Samardzija Thread". That also might work.

Well I figured this might be a good start to a post game thread which seem to be pretty common around here. Sorry if I broke forum decorum.

Good Lord, there are some whiny b****es around here.

Relax...

For the sake of turning this to real conversation, why do you (I'm guessing) disapprove of Shark being used here?

I'm just trying to start a discussion about Lou's bullpen use and I get people crying because I didn't post this in the game thread or the Smardzija thread or label this properly as the official post game thread. Sorry for attempting to talk baseball here. You people keep berating people for not posting 100% up to your standards.

:good:

This should be asked in the post-game thread. Or the game thread. Or the Samardzija thread. Or the what the hell are you doing, Lou thread. But not here.

I love it when people freak out just because a thread is started.

I would agree that Shark should not be pitching in a 7-0 game in the ninth. If he is suppose to be one of our best pitchers then we need to save him for important innings. Cotts or Howry could have come in and pitched, given up 4-5 runs, and it would be a better result than Shark not being able to pitch tomorrow because he already pitched tonight, but only gave up 1 run.

Once again, that's if you consider him one of our best set-up men.

In the grand scheme of things, though, I think this is is not that big of a deal.

Neither is baseball. Hopefully he's ready to go if need be tomorrow.

In the grand scheme of us winning the series, it is not that big of a deal. Better?

I don't agree with the bullpen use tonight. In fact, I hated the use of the bullpen. I still don't think it will cost us a victory.

Are you joining the club? ;)

Look, people usually don't like wading through 10 different post-game thread, which is why they are usually combined into one post-game thread. But have at it in this one instead!

Fixed.
