According to gameday, that one almost got out as well.

 

Howry sucks badly, but you gotta blame Lou for even putting him in today.

Sad thing about this is, Lou can't seem to see the obvious.

 

He just keeps trotting Bob "Blown leads, holds, games" Howry out there day after day after day.

 

 

If the Cubs have a flaw, it will burn them. It always does. Their stupidity always seems to be brutally punished out of proportion.

 

Piniella's bullpen usage was stupid all season, and it's now coming around to hurt us.

So does only scoring 2 runs on 10 hits today.

 

Would Howry's pitching been less bad in a 5-5 game? Less of an impact on our chances of winning from that point on?

Regardless if your offense can only muster 2 runs on 10 hits, 5 walks, and 2 homers you aren't going to win. Bullpens are going to let up runs. Although I agree that Howry does suck.

good point, the 88% fails to take into account the fact that there are lots of games left to be played. someone should contact baseball prospectus about that.

How many times have we thought it would be the final straw for Marquis and he's still around.

 

Marquis isn't that bad, at least not as bad as a lot of us think.
