20 active scoring or are you including a bench as well in that number? The number of major league roster players will likely play a big part on what overall team salary will be.

I'd imagine that would be including the bench. I'd probably like less minor leaguers since I don't keep track like I used to.

20 including bench but not injured. We'll go with LF, CF, RF, 3b, SS, 2b, 1b, C, DH, 5 SP, and 3 RP.

15X16 minor leaguers goes 240 deep so maybe that is too much - 160 is a more reasonable number and hopefully everyone in the league will track 10.

If we want to make this reality based we should field a full minor league team as well. We'd have to adjust the "minor league eligibility" rules in order to do it. I could easily sign 10 more guys on Roadkill right now, but they aren't elite.

Also, there shouldn't be a limit on DL slots on the Major League team. Teams shouldn't be able to pick up injured guys in order to stash them, but if it's a guy that you've drafted and brought up through your system you should be able to keep him and still field a team. We're kind of limited in that w/ our set-up in Roadkill.

I've thought about a minor league system, but I think that may get too complicated. Just dealing with the major league rosters is complicated enough.

I agree with the DL though. You will still have to pay all the players on your DL of course.

Maybe you just create a rule that DL players are not eligible to be picked up, that way they can't be stashed. Admittedly, I have picked up DL players for the sole purpose of stashing them.

But, in this day and age of MLB, players get hurt. I've had as many as 6 guys on my major league roster all on the DL at the same time within the last year and a half, and I know Tim was jonesing for a healthy guy or two earlier this season.

In other words, I would like to see the DL stay somewhat similar to the league we are currently playing in. If you want to prevent "stashing", create a rule that says that DL players can't be signed for the sole purpose of stashing. I think that would prevent what you are opposed to. In the case of Francisco Liriano, I don't see why Adam couldn't stash him on his DL since he had him from the start, but I wouldn't have been able to pick up Kelvim Escobar and stash him as a free keeper for next year (excluding the salary structure that I'm unfamiliar with for this new league.
