NL Pitching Staff

Since this game is a little more important to us this year, I'm sure every little thing Clint Hurdle does will be critiqued even more than LaRussa's screw-up last year. The roster appears stronger than the AL, but several pitchers will have pitched on Sunday and will be unavailable. Heres the list:

 

Aaron Cook, COL

Ryan Dempster, CHC

Dan Haren, ARI

Brad Lidge, PHI

Tim Lincecum, SF

Ben Sheets, MIL

Edinson Volquez, CIN

Billy Wagner, NYM

Brandon Webb, ARI

Brian Wilson, SF

Kerry Wood, CHC

Carlos Zambrano, CHC

 

 

Lincecum, Dempster, and Webb pitch on Sunday, and Wood is out (not sure on replacement - if any), leaving 5 starters and 3 relievers. Volquez pitched today, so no more than 1 inning for him.

 

Starter then is between Volquez, Cook, Haren, Sheets and Z. How should it go?

 

Z for 2 innings

Haren/Sheets for 2 each

Volquez for one

Wagner for one

Lidge to close.

I'm not positive that Lincecum, Demp and Webb will be unavailable. Wouldn't they be pitching a between-starts side session about 2 days from now anyway?

Kind of freaky that guys like Peavy and Santana aren't on the all star roster. Since the game has become more about home field advantage, I'd find a way to get those guys on the roster.

I said the same thing in another thread. I'd think they'd be available for one inning, no longer.
