Definitely Nomar, the board exploded and it birthed Treeman's thread of the century

Harden is pretty damn exciting, but I can't see anything topping Nomar.

I'm pumped about this one, but the Nomar one for a number of reasons.

 

Nomar was a marquee player and that one went right down to the wire. It appeared the deadline had passed without any moves and then boom! Nomar, who seemed like the prize of all prizes.

 

I'm excited about Harden, but it happened so quickly with little rumor or build-up. Sure, we knew Hendry was looking to add a pitcher, but I'm guessing most of us thought it would be after the break and much closer to the deadline.

Definitely Nomar. That was indescribable.

Definately Nomar. Not only because it down to the last minute, but when he got to Chicago, he got a standing ovation before the game, before his first AB, and he collected his first hit as a Cub, to clinched the game late against the Philles. That was also Maddux's 1st or 2nd try at 300, which he didn't get, but Wrigley Field was definately abuzzed with Nomar coming, and Maddux going for 300.

Not sure if your joking about McGriff, but he did give us a very nice season and a half, plus it was the first Cubs trade that I was old enough to be truely excited about.
