Matchup Of The Week: GHS vs. NSBB

While the rest of the league cherishes in Adam's profanity laced tirades, this match up has become a historic rivalry, even if both teams are not living up to the standards they've set the past few years.

Johan Santana's two starts this week will be tough for GHS to overcome. But, Ryan Dempster will be facing a rather weak and injured looking Colorado team in his two start week, so Dempster has a chance to match Santana's output.

The last two weeks I had a negative start in both weeks that cost me a win that I would have had, had I just scored 0 points. I think I see a trend I need to avoid.

Am willing to trade Kelly Johnson and Hafner in a package deal that gets me another bat for U. Hafner's bound to turn it on sooner or later if anyone is interested and needs a 2b.

I believe its the 78 final. Getting ready for Euro's to start.

Maybe V-Mart or Delmon Young. Combined they have six fewer HRs than Fielder has by himself.

yeah, martinez is right up there. delmon young's been disappointing, but he wasn't coming off a 50 hr season like fielder. verlander's been pretty awful too.

Jeff Francis gets my nod as the biggest disappointment this year. His 2nd half last year was great. That whole Rockies teams has been a disappointment though.

I have both Martinez and Young on my team in another league. We're all probably biased toward our own underachievers. Martinez is worse, since he's my only catcher while I have other options I can use at OF until (or if) Young gets untracked.

Quite the hair on Kempes there - why is he just standing watching I wonder?

Between his hair and the look on his face, the look is priceless.

At the moment I have a 1/4 point lead but a 5-2 remaining pitching start disadvantage. I don't like my chances this week. The last thing I needed was for Harang to put up double-digit negative points tonight. :x

My own pain:

Swisher, Nick RF CHW 0.2133 0.3425 0.3400 97.5

Martinez, Victor C CLE 0.3019 0.3450 0.3648 85.8

Verlander, Justin SP DET 5.16 1.40 103.0

But I think this guy wins:

Hafner, Travis DH CLE 0.1982 0.3134 0.3153 73.0

No [expletive]! And to think I traded Bay and Adenhart for him. Horrible deal for me! Oh well.. first really bad trade I've made in a while. Oh wait, I traded Nady, O. Hudson and Lars for Cano.. [expletive]!

I lead by just over 30, but I'm all out of pitching starts and Navin still has 4 remaining. I need for him to put up a negative start or two for me to hold on.

So much for my hanging on to a 1/2 point lead with a 2 start pitching disadvantage. I needed the Giants and Padres to have an 11-10 type of game, not 1-0.

Did I somehow miss a rule that allows you to put active players in the minors?

The way I have understood the rules, once you promote someone, you can't send them back down unless they are officially sent down.

You would be correct!

Just checking and maybe I missed their demotions, but JR Towles, Armando Gallaraga and Michael Bourn are all in the minors, have scored points for their fantasy major league team and are all active.

that's not the case. if they're still under the limits, you can send them down.
