Just played at University Park in Florida

It was amazing and affordable. Only cost $79.00 for 18 holes and it's rated in the top 3 courses in Florida

i'm sure it's nice, but i'm just as sure that it's not a top 3 golf course in florida....for $79 a round it may be top 3 in it's price range, but not overall.

btw, what did you shoot?

Well I guess the guy we were playing with lied then, but It was a steal with only paying $79 to play.

I shot 93 I think...I'm not a good golfer, but I love playing...See I had to learn to hit righty cause I used handy-me-downs when I was younger instead of hitting lefty which I'm naturally left handed hitting...and I've just never gotten much better than I am right now because of that.

Phil Mickelson says hang in there! He's actually a righty that plays golf left handed.

I wish I had just learned to play left handed....I would have been such a better golfer

Oh, and I've DVR'd all 72 holes of the first two tournaments in Hawaii and am programmed to record all 5 days of the Bob Hope Classic.

I have a pretty big back yard with a small hill and fence in the back, facing a forest preserve. I was out in the back hitting some golf balls with my driver. First few were flying high in the air, but then I hit a line drive bullet. It went straight through the cedar fence board (maybe 30 yards away from where I teed up). My wife will kill me because of golf ball sized hole in the fence, but damn it felt great :)

Go out and lay a golf ball in your yard somewhere close to the hole. Then you can blame someone from the other side of the fence for the hole. ;)

Gah! It's kinda pointless for me to record this to watch later if you're all going to be doing play by play. How about some spoilers or somethin'?

How about you don't check the golf thread if you don't want to know about today's golf? :)

Only on the 7th hole and Tiger has almost reeled in O'Hair.

It has always surprised me how much other professional golfers are intimidated by playing with Woods.

He's only up 1 now.

Tiger Woods is better at golf than you are at anything in your entire life.

I think he's better at golf than anyone is at anything in their lives.

Except maybe Warren Buffett. And Geovany Soto.

Well, yeah, but who could have known that financials and real estate would have done badly in 2008?

(yes, that's sarcasm)

I'm guessing if he wasn't 78, that wouldn't have happened to him.

Vijay Singh, during a practice round, SKIPS the ball off the water on the par 3 16th at Augusta and makes an ace.

I wish a there were a better quality video floating out around there. That's a ridiculous shot.

I can't get to youtube from work...but was it intentional? or a mis-hit that he got lucky on?

I just watched the video and I couldn't tell. NBC doesn't have cameras running on Masters Wednesday?

NBC doesn't have anything to do with Masters.

I thought I read something that players routinely play around trying to skip the ball off the water there on practice days.

A few years back, I was playing a hole heading one direction, and another group was coming back the other direction on the next hole that shared a boundary with the one I was on. Anyway, there was a pond that was toward the end of my hole (beginning of theirs) and I watched as the guy hit off the tee, it skipped twice off the pond, managed to get out, but then hit a tree, caromed way up in the air like an outfield fly ball, and plopped right back in the water.

Was quite a funny sight.
