If Edmonds hits ahead of Geo in this lineup, I will jump off the 42nd story of the US bank building, which happens to be the tallest building in Wisconsin

I am going to hold you to that, then probably follow.

I would do the following:

Soriano

Fukudome

Lee

Ramirez

Soto

Derosa

Edmonds

Theriot

Soto is just hitting too well not to have him bat behind Ramirez. Maybe I would put Edmonds between Soto and Derosa but definitely not higher than sixth in this lineup.

Soriano

Fuku

Lee

ARam

Soto

DeRo

Theriot

Z/Lilly/Marquis/Gally/Liebs/Hill/Marshall/Dempster/whoever

Edmonds

Or if you subscribe to Yost or LaRussa's 2nd leadoff man in the nine hole (which I don't...)

Soriano

Fuku

Lee

Aram

Soto

DeRo

Pitcher

Edmonds

Theriot

In other words, I hit Edmonds behind the pitcher because he sucks and I have no hope for him, not because of the 2nd leadoff strategy.

I really don't like the amount of flip flopping Fukodome and Theriot will be doing. IMO, this will cause them to slump.

This killed me

the reasoning might not be good, but there's no reason to shift theriot down in the lineup as long as he's hitting well in the 2 hole.

LF Soriano

SS Theriot

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

RF Fukudome

CA Soto

CF Edmonds

2B DeRosa

That really is a potentially stacked lineup. Probably what we'll see tomorrow. DeRosa effectively becomes the BEST 8 hitter in the game.

until he shows that he's not completely washed up, edmonds should not hit ahead of a guy OPS'ing over .800

Agreed. Reputation aside, Edmonds has been declining for a few yrs now, and he must prove he's worthy to hit above 8th i the lineup.

But to be fair, if he gets to hit between ARam and Soto and DeRosa, it's possible Edmonds can still be semi-productive (.250-.260/.330/.410 productive). I'm not holding my breathe or anything, but I really hope he is productive, but I am not banking on it. So he should bat 8th, until he prove otherwise.

Here's one we won't see

Soriano

Fukudome

Lee

ramirez

Soto

Edmonds

Derosa

Pitcher

Theriot

Though I'd bet we'll see Theriot bat 9th during interleague play.

By the same reasoning, do you think should Soto remain in the 6 hole if Fuku moves up?
