Wondering if Vitters' recent success has answered any concerns for some of y'all?.... I know it's a small sample size, but it's all been a small sample size with him so far.

I'm certainly encouraged about him. He's anything but a "bust" at this time.

If the question was, can he have any success what so ever in short-season A ball, then yes he's answered that question.

Vitters is hitting over .330. What is his timetable for this season? What more important better competition with Peoria or to have some success in Boise?

Learning to play defense and not worry about hitting. He can do that if he's hitting well.

We still have to look at it as if he's any other prospect. He'll only be 19 to start the season next year in Peoria, and if he goes a level per season, that'd put him in Daytona at 20, Tenn at 21, Iowa at 22, Big leagues at 23. That's a very conservative approach.

I used to think he had to be moved quickly, but that will happen when his defense catches up to his bat.

Oh, come on. He's an 18 year old putting up good numbers. Get excited about him, you know you want to. He's the next Wade Boggs.

I think he will be hated forever simply because hes a high school player and we could have had a 22 year old catcher

On Keith Law's espn chat today...

Tim (NYC): Vitters/Moustakas: A year out, who would go first (with Heyward clearly going before both)?

Keith Law: (1:08 PM ET ) Vitters. I've heard from people who've seen him this year that he looks outstanding in the NWL.

I was listening to the minor league show on XM 175 and they asked Sickels about Vitters. He basically said that Vitters would be fine and, to put things in perspective, that if he had gone to college Vitters would be a freshman and we wouldn't be worried/ he'd still be a top prospect.
