RHP Todd Blackford is back with the Chiefs after having TJS last year, Marcos Mateo already moved up to Daytona to make space for Blackford.

AZ Phil at Fitch

  • Rehabbing Billy Petrick and Grant Johnson each threw a scoreless inning.
  • Nelson Perez and John Contreras both hit huge home runs.
  • Teenage LHP Jeffry Antigua and RHP Rogelio Carmona impressed as did former bonus baby RHP Kevin Kreier (Kreier looking good is about as common as Mark Pawelek looking good, sadly).
  • Francisco Acosta and Jose Severino were sent back to the Dominican Republic for fighting each other.
  • Scott Taylor - already on a 50-game substance abuse suspension - was sent home after violating team rules.

Some updates from the various games...

Marquez Smith and Josh Donaldson both hit HRs, but Peoria is down 8-5 in the 9th.

Daytona keeps getting knocked around against St. Lucie and is down 6-1.

Ryan Harvey's 3/3 and James Russell had a really nice outing: 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 5 K.

Harvey's line against Kershaw this season: 6/6, 5 2B.

Those happen to be the only 5 doubles that Harvey has this year. Even for a tiny sample, considering the pitcher and the hitter, that is very, very odd.

that has to be the weirdest thing ever. one of the best pitching prospects in the game against a failed hitting prospect, and somehow the failed hitting prospect dominates the pitching prospect. it's not like harvey rakes against everyone else, he sucks against everyone else. this makes no sense at all.
