Sheets on a pitch count. Brewers bullpen is horrible. And Sheets is already over 20 pitches, with the majority of them outside the strike zone. I'm not sure why all the negativity.

The dropped 3rd strike rule is needed so that teams have to employ a catcher in all instances. Otherwise you get an extra defender and just let the ball bounce off the ump.

That was mostly after both 2 pitch outs leading off the inning

Wouldn't it be easier to require someone man the catcher position?

unbelievable dumb play by the reds in stl. 2nd(keppinger) and 3rd(cpatt) one out, grounder to third results in rundown between home and 3rd for cpatt. cpatt gets chased back to 3rd, but keppinger is standing on the bag. cpatt knows he's out and heads to the dugout, keppinger inexplicably leaves 3rd base and runs to second. molina is like 5 ft away with the ball, throws to 2nd, inning over.

Well of course Yost will say that. He doesn't want the Cubs to be counting on it. But on a cold night like this, he's on a pitch count.

He still threw more balls than strikes in the inning. That's not good.

I just literally laughed out loud in class. That could only have happened on a Dusty Baker team.
