I was just admiring the batting averages in Oakland's box score as of 9pm PST on Friday night. Obviously the batting averages are accumulative with all their other games:

 

Buck- .000

Ellis- .059

Barton- .200

Sweeney- .182

Cust- .154

Crosby- .294

Hannahan- .250

Suzuki- .375

R. Sweeney- .375

looks about right- that's an appalling offense.

 

not a great offense, and yes they've been slumping, but batting average is a poor way to assess this. especially in oakland. and especially especially for jack cust.
