Apparently Tim jinxed more than Verlander today. VMart gets an MRI and the Pujols HR won't count. [/Don't ban me.]

Yet I still scored well today...

VMart is a definite concern. When he got hurt last year to start the season, Cleveland got snowed out of their next 24 games or so. By the time they started playing again he was fine. I think I'm taking more of a hit this year.

I presume there's be nothing said about the possible injury?

In regards to my team, I'm encouraged by Furcal and Gomez. I'm also glad that I didn't cut Millwood over the weekend (for now). If anyone has a 2B for sale, feel free to LMK.

Let's see if I remember the replacement policy.

If I have a player who is Day-to-Day, I can bench him, but I cannot pick up a FA to replace him. It would have to be someone who stated the week as a reserve or in my minors. Right?

The only way I can pick up a FA and placehim in the line up is due to a trade or someone being placed on the DL.

It was snowing in Minneapolis today. I can't wait for their new open air stadium. They better not schedule a home game until May after it opens.

I hope for my sake that the player actually has to go on the DL.

i thought that only applied to pitchers. it's my understanding that you would be able to pick up a FA to replace a day-to-day injured position player.

sure, so long as you don't exceed the roster limits.

and don't put the injured guy on your DL unless he's really on the DL.

So I see you changed the waiver issue already. So i picked up Gregg, Cordero is on my bench, and I have room since Beckett is currenty on the DL.

It's early and I may be missing something here, but I see a FA was signed to replace a pitcher that's day to day but not on the DL. I thought it was allowed for position players only.

With the new starts limit (7), you can swap out pitchers whenever you want.

Sorry, should've mentioned it's a reliever taking the spot of Cordero.

i thought that you couldn't pick up FA starting pitchers to replace non-DL'ed injured starting pitchers, but i don't remember any rule about relievers.

I don't see the problem with replacing an injured player as long as you make room on your roster. The problem would be if someone put a day to day player on the DL when he's not officially on the DL yet. But if you drop a player in order to pick up a FA there shouldn't be a problem.
