CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs today announced their first ever "March to Opening Day Madness." To celebrate the coming of Opening Day, the Cubs have organized a 16-song tournament to determine a song to be played as the Cubs take the field on Opening Day 2008.

The bracket-style voting tournament will include 15 song choices from local radio stations and Cubs broadcasting partners. The song played when the team took the field last year, Van Halen's "Jump," will occupy the 16th slot of the bracket. The winner will be decided by fan voting on http://www.cubs.com.

105.9 has NO place nominating a song for the Cubs. We already get a bum rep for Wrigley hosting golddiggers on a regular basis and that station practically caters to them.

Although I am interested in what the Spanish language station comes up with.

There is no reason for anything other than Jump by Van Halen to ever be played when the Cubs take the field.
