I have nothing against Corey, but I feel compelled to root for him to flop in Cincy so we can see the Reds get crippled by a lethal Dusty/Pierre combo.

That would be fun

it should be a comical season for us

i think it should still stay in baseball discussions until rumors actually come out

someone should start a poll about what forum this thread should be moved to so we can have nsbb's formal opinion

I feel too bad for Reds fans to enjoy this much. While Dusty was a cancer for us, we didn't have the resources for him to totally misuse like they do in Cincy. Here is the first chance for the Reds to compete in a long time and they are gonna ride Patterson and Hatteburg down to the cellar instead and destroy Bailey and Cueto. I don't really care that they are in our division; if we don't win our division this year, then we know we don't deserve to see October anyway. I wanna see what these kids can do; i've been excited about it since I saw Bruce play in the futures game.

The Juan Pierre saga continues. Coming off the bench in the ninth inning to bunt a runner to second base, Pierre failed but reached first base on a fielder's choice. Then he took off for second base as Rafael Furcal struck out, and Bengie Molina threw him out to end the game. This can't help gain Pierre playing time

i have been wondering for a while what it would take to pry matt kemp away from the dodgers. for a "normal" team you'd have to give up a LOT for a prospect like kemp, but colletti's veteran fetish is very well known, and with such a crowded outfield, the dodgers may view kemp as being expendable if they received something of value in return.

alright I'll ask it. what makes Kemp great and Pie crap?

well this question looks even more absurd given their performances in 2008.

it would've been a very astute move for a GM to pluck kemp away from the dodgers this offseason. unfortunately, i think the dodgers realize they have a very good ballplayer at this point.

i'm still going to reserve judgment on Felix until he gets any semblance of regular PT in the majors.

it's not entirely his fault he's been railroaded by Piniella. he starts hitting well over a 3 week span and promptly gets demoted.

We totally failed to capitalize on the time when everyone in the offense was clicking to let him work some things out. Now we're back to having any given part of the lineup carrying the burden on any day instead of the whole lineup mashing.
