He says it's an outpatient surgery so I wouldn't expect it to keep him out longer than maybe a month, but any kind of heart surgery is pretty scary in my opinion. I wonder if this has any effect on the Roberts talk. It wouldn't surprise me for Hendry to hear this news, up his offer, and get raped in the process.

I'd say Fontenot would be the opening day starter with Cintron and Cedeno backing him up. Patterson is not working at second base at all this spring training, so he isn't really an option.

exactly...although i doubt it will be that serious...first and foremost let me say that i love dero and i hope he is ok and if indeed he has surgery (you guys like this crazy run-on sentence?) that he recovers strong and is A-OK from there-on out...hendry needs to pull the trigger...well are too close not to...

First of all, I hope he's ok which is the important thing.

 

Yeah, this may hurt Hendry in his supposed trade talks with the O's or any other team he may be talking too. I really wish Patterson would step up and take this spot.

if we don't get roberts...maybe just maybe...it will allow theriot to play second and cedeno to show that he can be our starting shortstop...that really would be the best case scenario out of all of this if it doesn't involve us adding roberts...
