This one might be easy. There are 5 players out there that have hit more than 50 HRs in one season, but in no other season in their careers hit 40 or more. Can you name these 5 players?

The spoiler window will contain a hint for anyone who wants one. If you don't want a hint, do not open the spoiler.

Here are the decades that the players 50+ HR season occured:

30's - 1

60's - 1

90's - 2

00's - 1

Brady Anderson is the first to come to mind. Hack Wilson in the 30's. Roger Maris in the 60's. Would Prince Fielder count?

I think you're forgetting someone if you only have 1 in this decade

Prince Fielder (2007) and Luis Gonzales (2001) -- Brady Anderson and Roger Maris are 2 more, I'm not sure about the 5th (or 6th if there were 2 in the 90's)

Whoops, for some reason I though Lu Gonz hit his 50+ in 1999. Guess it was 2001. So two in the 00's, 1 in the 90's

All of the answers have been guessed

It was:

Hack Wilson (1930) - 56, 39 his next best

Roger Maris (1961) - 61, 39 his next best

Brady Anderson (1996) - 50, 24 his next best

Luis Gonzalez (2001) - 57, 31 his next best

Prince Fielder (2007) - 50, 28 his next best

I'm also thinking Hack Wilson hit 30+ a few times but never 40+

1930s - Hack Wilson

1960s - Roger Maris

1990s - Brady Anderson

2000s - Luis Gonzalez and the other has to be Prince Fielder

Which 5 active pitchers are currently among the top 10 overall in career K/BB ratio?

Guesses are:

Clemens

Schilling

Pedro

Santana

and just a complete shot in the dark because you asked this question and his low BB rates historically, Jon Lieber

Maddux and Pedro. Schilling? Johnson? Hoffman?

Sorry, should have stated "Minimum 1000 IP, 100 career decisions"

Maddux - 15th

Pedro - 3rd

Schilling - 2nd

Johnson - 20th

Hoffman - doesn't meet the criteria I just specified, my bad

4 of 5 right.

Guesses are:

Clemens - 31st

Schilling - 2nd

Pedro - 3rd

Santana - 6th

Jon Lieber - 8th

And what do you mean..."because I asked this question"? :)

schilling, pedro, rivera, maddux and sheets

current cub

rivera isnt eligible guys, but he would be #12 if he were. no closers are on brs list, so hoffman (who would have been one) is out

All 5 have been stated.

Schilling - 4.380 - 2nd overall

Pedro - 4.280 - 3rd overall

Ben Sheets - 3.940 - 4th overall

Johan Santana - 3.790 - 6th overall

Jon Lieber - 3.670 - 8th overall

Of course, if Lieber pitches as much as I think he will, he'll likely fall out of the top 10 this year, and Oswalt could slip in.

That's amazing, I just guessed Lieber because I couldn't think of anyone besides Maddux, and I knew it wasn't him, so I just named Lieber because of his really low BB rate. I thought for sure I was wrong. I figured you'd ask the question because Lieber just signed with the Cubs, and its something no one would guess.

Lou Gehrig led it twice. Sammy Sosa has never led the league in slugging, but the three others have a higher career slugging than him. Vladimir Guerrero is the highest, ranking 11th all time and only finishing as high as third.
