Infielder Lance Niekro, the son of Astros all-time wins leader Joe Niekro, was among five players signed by the Astros to minor league contracts and given invitations to spring training Wednesday.

 

The Astros also signed righthanders Mike De Jean and Carlos Hines, outfielder Victor Diaz and catcher J.R. House, the former West Virginia University quarterback who played in the organization in 2006.

I could see the Brewers being very tough this year as well.

 

NL Central is a 2 horse race at this point. No one else has the pitching to compete.
