Just got this in my inbox along with news of the Volquez trade...

T.R. Sullivan reports that the Rangers “are expected to have something done with [Everyday Eddie] Guardado shortly after the holiday break or New Years Day.” The 37-year-old former closer had Tommy John surgery during the 2006 season and struggled on his return in 2007, posting a 7.24 ERA late in the season for Cincinnati (though it included an ERA of 0.93 over his final 10 appearances, spanning 9.2 innings).
