seriously, is nl central and white sox talk so active on this board that i needed its own sub-forum? plus, there's probably a topic started there every week about a team that isn't even a rival. it's a useless subforum.

While I understand the reasons behind its inception, lately more heated discussions have been found elsewhere. Maybe there really is no longer a need for it.

I do know that often it's confusing where to place a topic, which also leads to duplicate threads.

I'm in agreement. It needs to go. There are too many threads that end up as duplicates and too many new "rivalries" that the Cubs seem to come up with.

I never liked the idea from the start, if for no other reason than it causes lots of confusion as to where to place threads. "Hey, I have this news about the Boston RedSox here, I'll go ahead and post it in the transactions forum. Oh, what's this you tell me? It's in the Rivalries thread? That makes perfect sense since we've played about 3 games against them in the last decade."

Yeah; useless forum.

There should either be no 'Rivalries' forum or it should be changed to an 'Other Teams' forum.

Or something really catchy like "Baseball Discussions"

That's got a nice ring to it.

How about Bob's Greatest Hits? It works for you and that hard hitting safety of yours.

I don't mind keeping "Baseball Discussions" solely Cubs related and having a separate forum for all the other teams but it doesn't really matter either way.

Wasn't the forum created because of planned mass trolling from Cards fans on CT? IIRC it never happened.

I honestly dont remember exactly why it was created, but I remember being staunchly opposed to it.

Well, in that case, I'm in favor of it remaining. :)

Thats probably why it actually was made a forum in the first place

i say we go another direction and have separate forums for each team, each with a subforum for each player on the 40 man roster.

And each of their coaches, GM's, and Owners. That way when we have news about them it can be appropriately placed.

Yeah, that forum is a waste of space. Any time there is news about a non-Cubs player, just put it in Baseball Discussions.

I think it might be best to just change it to "other teams."

All Cubs' related stuff goes in either Baseball Discussions or Transactions, while anything about an other team goes in Other Teams.

Well, it could be time for a board redesign. Instead of three forums: transactions, rivalries, and baseball discussions. Have a Cubs baseball discussions and then another team forum. If it deals with Cubs-transactions or otherwise it goes in Cubs discussions....if it deals with another team- other team discussions.

Also, we should give our forums cute names ala the guys at Dodger Blues.

I love the title "Pedro for Delino" for the transaction forums.

I like the way our board is currently set up with transactions and general baseball discussions in two separate places. Though, "Pedro for Delino" is the best forum name i've ever seen.

I wonder what Tim is going to do tonight while he's upgrading the board. Hopefully he at least changes Rivalries to something else.

Ever since I started about a half year ago I've never liked rivalries.

This inevitably means that rivalries will stay

June 2007, July 2007, August 2007, September 2007, October 2007, November 2007....your years are approx. 3 months long?

Unless i'm missing something a half a year is six months, no?
