Ball State would've probably won that game if not for their coach and their kicker. Why the hell do you sit on the ball at midfield, 30 seconds to go, all three timeouts left at the end of a half?? Why do you punt the ball away with 9 minutes to go down 2 possessions knowing full well your defense can't stop Mendenhall or Juice on the ground?? Why do you miss two chip-shot field goals to ruin great drives by the Cardinals???

Credit to the Illini fans. For an 11:00 am local time start it was a very raucous atmosphere.

Mizzou didn't look their best, but they beat Iowa State 42-28. Now on to Boulder.

This was probably the worst they played all year. And it absolutely sucks that we lost Pig for the year. Not sure what to think about Colorado, but hopefully (and probably) Mizzou comes out with a lot more intensity than they did this week.

Finally, two things. 1. Attendance was an absolute embarrassment today. In my four years at Mizzou, I've never been so disappointed with a crowd than today. Our fans are so damn fickle, its disgusting. 2. I think we played without a lot of intensity. Hopefully that changes next weekend with us playing on the road against CU.

By the way, Mizzou is TOP 10! YESSS!

And our offense decided to wake up and we're only down 21-14 with 12:30 left in the game.

EDIT: But South Dakota State just completed a 70 yard pass for a TD. 28-14.

Well, with some ranked teams still playing or yet to play (and some of course playing each other) so far in the BCS rankings:

the #8, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15th teams have lost. Another ho-hum day :D

There are 2 matchups left between top 25 teams. So 2 will lose from those games, and then I'll predict that 2 others go down tonight making 10 of the top 25 losing today.

Oregon got up to #6 in AP Poll and #5 in the BCS back in 2005 though they didn't have a shot at the National Title.

Like I said, fans rushing the field should at least be reserved for an upset which this most certainly wasn't.

Why just upsets? Why not potential program-defining/changing wins?

You don't know if a win is program defining/changing until a few weeks later. What if Oregon comes out and loses their next three games and the bowl game, still think this win is program defining?

You don't know that an upset is really an upset after a few weeks if the losing team tanks.

But you can tell right now whether it seems like an upset today. Which Oregon's win most certainly isn't. That's completely different from a program defining win.

Well, it's a big win against a team that has had Oregon's number this decade and has dominated the conference in the mean time. It's also a program that hasn't had sustained success and as such has the underdog mentality normally against a team like USC (not specifically for this game). I don't see why a team needs to pull off the upset to be allowed to storm the field.

I think it was dumb in the Big 10 game, but not in this case. Oregon just beat USC, not MSU.

I hate how UCLA plays down to its opponents. Doesn't help that their two best offensive players - running back Kahlil Bell and receiver Brandon Breazell - are out for the rest of the game with injuries.

If this was anyone besides WSU, UCLA would be down by more than 10-7.

Mizzou probably played their worst game of the year today but still came out with a win. It was nice to see Tony Temple back today, and he made some nice cuts, but I fear that we might've lost Pig Brown for awhile.

Gotta refocus for next week's tough game at Boulder.

Hopefully A&M can pull out the win tonight and Mizzou will move into a tie for first in the North.

I read Brown is done for the season with a ruptured achilles. I really hope this doesn't send the defense into a tailspin like losing Brian Smith did last year.

KU takes a 3-0 lead on aTm. The aggies need to stay within a score at all times, because they sure aren't going to win anything with McGee making throws.

Yeah Pig is done. I was going to post the same thing about Brian Smith. Hopefully we can rebound, I think we have the depth at DB to do so.

How many bogus PI calls are you going to call on Norris, refs?? :x

THAT'S 5 PASS INTERFERENCE CALLS!!! GO TO HELL, REFS!

Hahahahaha, did Dorrell suddenly start calling plays for WSU? 3 straight runs up the middle on 1st and goal at the 1. Each lost a half yard. Then a blocked FG!

That's not good at all. I hope it doesn't hurt his NFL prospects. What's his draft projection?

Seriously, Dorrell and his reign of mediocrity has got to go.

Hopefully Lavin : Dorrell as Howland : ??.

He wasn't really on the draft radar prior to this season(and with good reason, he's a first year starter), so it's hard to tell. I think he'll get a chance at the NFL level in some capacity, although he may have to earn his way onto the roster because of the injury(and the fact that his coverage skills are subpar).

And I agree with Cubbies75 that we have the depth to absorb a loss in the defensive backfield, although obviously we'll be worse off. We've played a ton of 3 safety sets, and our 3rd safety Garrett missed this week with a minor injury, so whoever ends up there won't be shell shocked. Probably means more Alexander/Lambert instead of the 3rd safety going forward though.

The Red Sox are going to score more runs than UCLA will score points.

And the Red Sox don't get the benefit of playing the WSU defense.
