Stupid statistical perfection.

By the way, the more I think about it, the more having to mail a ticket back in for a refund makes no sense. With so many people printing out their tickets, why would they do that just for the hard tickets?

Wait, you have to mail in the ticket to get a refund? That's dumb.

I know for first round they will just credit the card back. I'd assume that is the same for the nlcs. I'll be calling tickets.com just to make sure.

Did they tell you that?

That's what they should and will likely be doing, but the official policy right now for mlb playoff tickets is that you have to mail them in. They won't release what the actual refund policy unless it's necessary.

Is there a reason teams don't do a lottery system like the Cubs do with tickets at the beginning of the season? I'm happy for those of you that got through, but having 50-500 windows open is just ridiculous. I'd feel less bitter if it was more random like the lottery system. :)

I like my chances better they way it is. If it were a random lottery, then practically everyone in Chicago would enter (either for themselves or for friends/family) and the chances would be very small. Pretty much everyone in this thread got tickets themselves or had mark, seth, or someone else help them out. (Thanks again, Seth!) Surprisingly not a lot of people have figured out the multiple windows trick.

I was one of those, until I saw the link at the beginning of this thread.

Whoever posted it, gracias!

Got 4 tickets to the 2nd home game in section 229. I'm pumped! Now we just gotta get to the NLCS!

Quick poll time. Can those who had a ton of windows open list which broswer they got through with? For some reason, the last two times I had a ton of windows open I got through IE much more frequently even though I had far fewer windows compared to Firefox. It's most likely just a coincidence, I know, but I'm interested to hear which browser worked well for everyone.

I use IE also. With a total of 72 windows open on two different computers I got in 3 times. Managed to get 4 bleachers for each of games 1 & 3 in section 306 and was timed out of my game 2 purchase (damn). Really pleased nontheless & am grateful to all those on this website who are willing to share info with others. You're all a pretty good bunch

I wish I knew when the NLCS games would be played. They don't release that until the teams are determined though, right?

I'm pretty sure the schedule is already set. I'm not sure whether or not they change it, but I don't think they do.

Depends who plays of course but Game 1 is set for Thursday Oct 11th. Game 7 for Oct 20th.

games would be on the 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 20th.

Those of you that have had tickets shipped before. How soon will you receive them? Any chance they arrive before Wednesday? If the Cubs somehow make it, its possible they could be hosting a game on Thursday.

I know they will host if they play the rockies.

Last time it took 3 days to recieve them. I'm guessing you'll probably get them on Tuesday.

What charges won't they credit back? There are three fees: a convenience fee, an order processing fee, and a shipping fee (or a print-at-home fee).

Obviously the face value of the ticket will get credited back, but will any of those three fees get credited back as well?

pretty sure it is just the ticket price is refunded. you can call tickets.com and ask them for sure though.

I wish I knew. I think Ticketmaster refunds just about everything, but I don't know about Tickets.com.

For mailed tickets, they are sent via 3-day FedEx and there must be someone present to sign for them.

And they told me today that it must be shipped to the billing address.

Just wondering if 3-day would be Tuesday (Friday-Mon-Tues) or Wednesday (Mon-Tue-Wed).

Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?

What if someone isn't there, do you have to go to an office or something to pick them up? Hmm, I wonder if doormen count as someone being there.

I'm pretty sure doormen can sign, but otherwise, they'd be taken back to FedEx and can be picked up in the evening. They'll make 3 delivery attempts on consecutive days before they send it back to tickets.com. If you know that nobody is going to be there, it might be best to put up a note asking them to hold the package at the facility.

couple of questions...

I got 2 tickets to the 2nd NLCS game and chose print at home. If i decide to sell those, can i forward the email to whoever i sell them to for them to print, or do i have to print them out and mail them?

Secondly, if the cubs make the world series, will the ticket sale be held the same way with the VWR? And how much more expensive would they be?

Posted
I bought tickets for UMFan, his girlfriend, a single for game three for another friend of mine, 3 tickets to game 2 for me, and a foursome for a friend of mine for game 1. What a day.

How many mortgages did you take out on your house?

Credit cards from others helped take care of things ;)

I just kept on getting through

I had an opportunity for three more UDR seats, but didn't get the info in in time, and by then, I could only score a single for her (my friend for game three)

Did you use a different Cubs.com account each time? I'm worried b/c I bought tickets and then my sister did, using my account, but her name, address, email, phone, credit card, etc. Would the Cubs cancel the orders over something like that?

You can email them if you chose to sell them. However, they are going to be harder to sell since you could sell them over and over again and whoever gets to the gate first is the only one that will be able to use them. Basically you will only be able to sell them to someone you know, someone taking a big leap of faith, or someone stupid.

Yes, if they make it to the WS, it will work the same. They have not posted how much the WS tickets will be.

If you decide to sell them, just PM me and we'll figure it out!
