I've already noticed Sox shirts becoming a scarce item out in public, and an increase in Cubs shirts around here.

If they EVER win a WS? Lord help my bank account.

Waiting to pick up a division champ hat. Reminds me how different this year is. In other years, the big news would be that, at 83 victories, we guaranteed our first winning season in hundreds of thousands of years! Nice that no one even mentioned that.

I kind of like the hat, not something I'd wear (mainly because I can't wear non fitted hats and look/feel normal due to my giant head), but it would be nice for display if the Cubs were to happen to make it.

I have found that the "strap back" hats like those fit large heads better than some of the other varieties. I stay away from anything that's a velcro-back, they always have way too small a radius for me. Fitted is always best as you say, of course.

I'm glad to know that I am not the only hat lover with a plus-sized melon. I can't really wear anything but a fully structured, fitted hat. Some of those slouch fit jobs will fit around my head, but almost none of them are deep enough. Ponder on that one for a minute.

I would HYPOTHETICALLY go for the roster shirt IF such a shirt were to become relevant.

I love the Cubs hoodie

Where do you see that?

It was up there last night. Can't find it anymore myself, though, either.

same here, pretty much only fully sized exact fitted hats work for me, this M L XL fitted stuff is often too small as well (wearing XL).

I wear New Era Fitted size 7 3/4

I go mostly 7 5/8 in New Era, but I occasionally go 7 3/4. It just depends on the individual hat and how its made.

THERE WE GO... LAUGH IN THE FACE OF JINXES AND TEMPTING FATE.

I love it! You did what I was dying to do but didn't feel like taking heat for.

I'm unwilling to buy any of this gear until after the Cubs are eliminated. I don't want a division champs shirt and then have to buy another when they win the NL...or more....:P

Yeah but just think, how much would this shirt be worth in 2050 on e-bay if the Cubs did blow the lead?

The shirt probably isn't actually shipped until the Cubs clinch division. If they do blow it people would just get a refund (much like the Bears' Super Bowl merchandise that was for sale before the game).

Can you tell I'm not familiar with this type of success?

I believe what happens is that orders placed before a team clinches are treated as pre-orders (sinilar to pre-ordering a book, CD, or DVD before it's released). If the team wins then the merchandise is produced and the orders filled; otherwise the orders are cancelled and credit cards aren't charged. They do have to produce some in advance to have in the locker room for players to wear when clinching. I read in conjunction with the Super Bowl that the shirts and caps produced in advance for the team that doesn't win get donated to some third world country, where people are just happy to get clothing and could care less that they're for something that didn't happen. I'd guess baseball does something similar.

Not to jinx things, but the Cubs versions are available for pre-order at CubWorld...
I checked CubWorld and didn't see anything. Wrigleyvillesports.com, however, does have items available for pre-order. However, they're not posting images until the Cubs clinch.

Someone else post the pics. Or PM me if these pansies can't handle it. :P

Just go to cubworld.com

EDIT - Nevermind. Looks like they took it off the site.

 CubWorld doesn't want to jinx it either; it'd kill their sales.
