What the hell is Lou doing? Dempster just pitched yesterday.

Plus, it is a non-save situation, bring in Wuertz, Piggy, or Gallagher for this inning.

I really do not understand this move.

Piggy hasn't pitched in ages. This is a perfect time for him.

this is really dumb. there's a good chance that the Cubs will need Marmol, Howry and Demp in a close game tomorrow. too bad we burnt them out in two blowouts.

So let me get this figured out. If the Cubs win, their Magic # is 7, regardless of the Brewer win or loss?

Yes. The magic number is any combination of Cubs wins and Brewers losses needed for the Cubs to win the divisioin.

I am having a hard tme getting worked up or blaming Lou when the Cubs are 2 outs away from winning another one.

Why in the hell is the crowd doing the Tomohawk chop?

magic # is the number of wins by the first place team plus the number of losses by the second place team, so yes.

Yes. The magic number is any combination of Cubs wins and Brewers losses. When/if it reaches zero, the Cubs win the division.

So what happens if the Brewers lose this afternoon? Six?
