i really really hope there are no playoff games (to get to the playoffs, at least ;) ).

If it comes to that then the Cubs will have sucked bad enough to kill my hopes anyways.

Cubs now have 12 games left, Brewers 14 games.

Brewers play 3@Hou who are out of it and I'm going to predict they take 2 of 3.

4@Atl who could be out of it at that point, I'll predict 1.5 of 4.

3 vs STL who will be out of it and I predict 2 of 3.

4 vs SD which is the wild card, if they have nothing to play for then the Brewers don't have to face Peavy. That series is like 2.5 out of 4.

Brewers final record 84-78.

Cubs would need to go 6-6 in their final 12 games to force a playoff and just have a winning record to take the division.

Alright.

I like to put pressure on my OWN team, so I'm gonna say the Cubs need to win 8 of 12 to ice this thing.

We shouldn't expect less. It's a bunch of tomato cans the rest of the way for us. No reason at all to expect less than 2/3 in these final series.

The Reds still worry me. Espically the series starting tomorrow. Arroyo and Harang always pitch well against us.

And if Kendall starts they are going to run wild on us as soon as they get a runner on just like they did to Milw the other night.

The Reds' series this week scares the crap out of me. I could easily see them winning this series with Arroyo and Harang going for them. Hopefully Z pitches a great game on Tuesday night against Harang.

I'm going to that game so I'm hoping he does.

The Brewers catch a break, Oswalt is leaving the team to be with his wife who is expecting their first child. He will not pitch in that series.

The Brewers will face three rookies in that series. Albers, Felipe Paulino, and Juan Gutierrez.

Well, that can be good or bad. Good that the Brewers have little or no idea what to expect when facing them.

Bad is that those rookies could get jittery and blow a big gasket in the first inning.

I dunno, I've seen them look bad even with those guys pitching. We just need to make it happen against us for a change.
