Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardinals-Cubs_rivalry and expand the Cards and Cubs boxes at the bottom of the article. The Cards basically have an article for every season they have ever played. Now look at all the redlinks for the Cubs seasons. Even the White Sox have some great wikipedia articles. The Cubs just lack it and I don't understand it.

Now I'm always a big fan of quality over quantity and the Cubs articles have been getting a little better, but there is some work that is sorely needed for the Cubs on wikipedia. Even the article I linked to is pretty weak. Not a lot of moments outside of the HR chase. It doesn't even mention the Sandberg game.

I'm just saying if anyone likes wikipedia and has any spare time try giving the Cubs articles some much needed help (with supporting sources of course). The following is an awesome article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_Chicago_Cubs_season

I took a quik glance at their stat list towards the bottom, and they compare franchise records. What struck me is how much more the Cubs are a pitching based franchise then the Cards, and ho much more hitting based the Cards are then the Cubs. This of course is a traditional look at the franchises over a very long period, but striking non-the-less.

and Wrigley is a "hitters park"

Sammy holds the Cubs' strikeout record in an injury shortened 1997 season? Is that right?

No. Sosa's injury shortened season was 1996. His career high in strikeouts was 174 in 1997, when he played 162 games.

Legitimate props to you for bringing this topic to light. If the posters here actually worked together on the project, it could get brought up to snuff quickly.

Always hate seeing the Cards outshine the Cubs in any arena. :P
