for those of you that might not normally see this sort of thing:

http://www.pjstar.com/stories/090207/CHI_BE88DQEV.077.php

Looks like Adduci, Canzler and Yusuf Carter are going to assist at the Dominican academy over the winter months.

With that said, here's what I know about who's going where this fall:

USA Baseball (2007 IBAF World Cup) - Tyler Colvin

AZ Fall League - (mesa solar sox) Avery, Berg, G. Johnson, Roquet, Lansford, Simokaitis, Fuld. (phoenix desert dogs) Jerry Blevins (I know he's an A but still like to keep tabs on him)

AZ Instructional League - I thought there had been some talk about who was going, but can't remember any more!

Hawaii Winter Baseball - Samson, Harvey

Venezuela - Mota, ...

Someone help - who have I missed?

Hey Nate, I'm guessing Hank Conger is on your list of most impressive players you've seen in person this year?

His plate discipline could use some work, but man, he's got some nice power potential.

that walk yesterday must have tired Colvin out, 0-3 with 3 K so far today.

in Boise Tony Thomas was 3-4 with a triple, and Donaldson was 2-3 with a double. Vitters didn't play.

I'm really going to miss these minor league threads with the "Geovany Soto" post from Sethuel/Truffle every day, seriously. I really hope he's no one-year wonder, and I hope he gets a long look for the Cubs.

Despite losing Tennessee is in the playoffs. With 1 game remaining Huntsville leads both Chattanooga and Tennessee by 1.5 games, so Huntsville wins both halves and Tennessee is in as a Wild Card with the next best overall record (even if Chattanooga winds up 2nd this half Tennessee has a better overall record by far).

Iowa's games have become much, much less interesting since August 31.

On the good side, Donaldson has been really impressive at Boise. Some would say that has an SEC player he should be beating up on rookie ball competition, but if he had enough ABs to qualify he'd be leading the league in OPS by a pretty large margin. He's shown good athleticism (6 SBs, 2 triples) and a pretty good glove (only 4 errors, after being charged with 15 last season at Auburn). Plus the .463 OBP is pretty nice too. I suspect that he'll be on the fast track after this performance, and probably starts out 2008 in Daytona.

Colvin will be attending instructional league also!

Good to hear, I think that would benefit him greatly.

Sasser left yesterday's Boise game with a left shoulder injury (he's a lefty).

The radio guy from Boise said he injured it on a fielding play. Also how bout a 3 way tie for your division and you get the short straw/Peoria!
