Just saw that with win #10 last night, Greg Maddux has won at least 10 games for 20 straight years.

Not exactly a 'sexy' record, but really speaks to Maddux's durability and consistency.

Next year he should be able to do it again tying him with Don Sutton?

Don Sutton won at least 10 games a year for 15 consecutive years, not 21.

20 Straight for Greg is a record, Sutton has 21 overall.

Cy Young had 19 straight seasons with double-digit wins from 1891-1909. Maddux is tied with Nolan Ryan for second behind Don Sutton for most seasons with 10 wins. Sutton had 21.

"I didn't know that. That's cool," Maddux said, shrugging off his latest accomplishment.

How about surpassing Mike Maddux on San Diego's all-time list for wins? Mike had nine wins for the Padres in 1991-92.

"That's big," Greg said with a smile.

Maddux is awesome.

Yeah but didn't he win 10 in 21 seasons?

Total, yes. Consecutive, no. The Cy Young record he broke was for consecutive seasons, not total.

Right, but I meant next year he should get his 21st season. Which would tie him with Don Sutton.

And possibly pass Clemens on the overall win list.
