Derek Jeter is a solid player, but he is also the most overrated, overpaid player in the game. He's very good, but his hype is the stuff of legend.

 

And Guillen is a mediocre defender, but in reality so is Jeter, and spite of the flash. Quite frankly, I am still shaking my head at the Yankees moving ARod to 3B instead of Jeter.

 

And including this year, Guillen has had a higher OPS 3 of the past 4 seasons. And the one season he didn't, he was hampered by injuries.

They said on SportsCenter that generally no inning can start after 1 a.m. local time but the exception is if it's the visiting team's last game to that city.

 

Not sure why they couldn't just suspend it until tomorrow, though.

Why did the Yanks/Tigers game start so late?

4 hour rain delay.

 

Why would the umps/MLB allow a game to start at 11p local time? Did neither of the Yanks or Tigers have an off day the rest of the year to make the game up??

 

Even if it only went 2.5 hours, you're getting done at around 1:30/1:45am.
