Records in August for each of the 3;

- StL 6-7 [5 straight Ls to open the month]

- MIL 4-8 [has suffered a 2-game L streak, in the midst of another 2-game L streak, and lost 4 straight about a week ago]

- CHC 4-9 [have been through a 2-game L streak, on a current 3-game L streak, and went 0-4 in a 4 game stretch as well]

MIL 62-57 --

CHC 60-58 1.5

StL 56-60 4.5

All of a sudden, that series with the Cards this weekend looks HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE; as does, basically, every game from here on out.

they should let whoever wins the aaa world series take the place of the nl central winner.

should have done that last year too.

Like I posted in Game Threads...

AL East - 5 teams: 299-294 (.504, 5 games over, 59.8 wins per team)

AL Central - 5 Teams: 296-297 (.499, 1 game under, 59.2 wins per team)

AL West - 4 Teams: 245-227 (.519, 18 games over, 61.3 wins per team)

NL East - 5 Teams: 302-291 (.509, 11 games over, 60.4 wins per team)

NL Central - 6 Teams: 332-375 (.470, 43 games under, 55.3 wins per team)

NL West - 5 teams: 302-292 (.508, 10 games over, 60.4 wins p

Yup. it is ugly.

Maybe Cartman could enter and win...

Like he did with Maury and the Special Olympics? Yeah, that worked out well.

I'm really not even excited about the prospects of winning the NL Central anymore. The only team that should be remotely excited is the Cardinals because they have one of the worst 'playoff contending' teams that I've ever seen.

I'll LOL really hard if/when we make the playoffs... our outfield has to be the worst defensively and offensively out of any other team in the playoffs.

Does it really matter who wins this division anymore?

If we win the division I bet you'll recant the statement. I'd rather win the division and lose in the playoffs than not be in the playoffs.

Me too.

I remember warning everyone not to dismiss StL a couple weeks ago...

Yeah, this division is a TOTAL joke.

and

Oh my God, the Astros are only 6 games back of us. This division is a massive joke

this division also produced the WS champs last year in a sweep, and none of those teams in the AL are that impressive this year either.

Yeah. They've been bleeding games off their division lead like a spaghetti strainer.

Last 3 NL World Series competitors too. Doesn't really have anything to do with this year's division though.
