2.5 back and fading fast?

Not really surprising. No matter what anyone says, we're not a real good team.

Take 2 top run producers out of any lineup and most teams won't be real good.

they weren't real good with those guys.

yeah, 18 games over .500 in a 35 game span (or something similar to that) isn't good.

just overlooking the other 80 games are we? give me a break.

Just ignoring the fact that the vast majority of good teams lose as many as 70 games in a season?

what?

let me know when the cubs go 92-70.

You appeared to argue that a team's performance over 80 games is a good indicator of how good they are. You ignored the fact that they play 82 other games. If a team goes 35-45 in the first 80 games they can still win 88-90 games and contend for the playoffs by going 53-29. Thus your argument ignores as much as Cubbies75 did.

As Len said, I've seen this movie before. This team doesn't deserve to win if they squander this chance again.

i don't even get what you're saying, and i really don't care.

i said they weren't real good. he said they were because of a good 35 game stretch. i pointed to the other 80 games they've played as evidence that they're not...i'd say 115 games is a better sample size than 35.

It's not surprising that Hill or Marshall are struggling in Colorado, I bet they can't wait to get the hell back to sea level where their offspeed pitches will break.

Wait, this guy wasn't even playing minor league ball until late July? Jesus Christ...

looks like the cubs realized this just as you did!
