For better or for worse, I don't think Murton's going to get a serious shot on this team.

 

If he's moved in a package for Dunn or Griffey, it's for better. If he's moved for Payton or Conine, it's for worse. Hopefully it's the former.

Exactly my thoughts, but i'd be weary about how many other prospects we give up.

I'm sure you meant RF as well. Depending on Floyd for two months definitely won't be a smart thing to do.

 

And like someone mentioned in another thread, I really don't think it's a coincidence that Griffey has been injury-free this season with the move to RF. I could definitely live with an OF of Soriano-Jones/Pagan-Griffey for the rest of the year.

Griffey is a RFer now.

 

I'm sure he could still play center, but could he stay healthy there? I have my doubts.

I'd still take a chance on Griffey. If you want to get better, you have to take risks. Griffey would be a high risk move, but the move could equally have a high reward.

Well, unless for some reason we include Floyd in the trade for Griffey, if he gets hurt we'd probably return to the same OF we have now, Soriano-Jones/Pagan-Floyd/DeRosa.
