Sean's last start as a cub :(
Not necessarily. There are trade rumors, but there have been many false rumors as well as true rumors that fell through at the last minute (such as Jones to Florida).

This site will go nuts if the Gallagher doesn't start today.

Judging by Lou's comments in the paper today, it appears Gallagher will be called up pretty soon to pitch in the pen.

He was sent down July 20, so he could be called back up as early as tomorrow based on the 10-day rule. I hadn't seen that article, so I may have misinterpreted cuubs4life's comments (I thought he was referring to a possible trade as opposed to a callup).

A little less conventional 1-2-3 for Gallagher in the 4th. Simokaitis committed an error to let the first man reach, then both were retired on an unconventional double play that I can't figure out.

4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4/0 K/BB, 57 pitches

Iowa leads 3-0 after an error on a sac bunt scores two runners.

Cards down 5-0 to Brewers are up 9-5. Tenn down 7-2 come back and win 9-7. Boise and Peoria in 1st place, Tenn down 2 games, Iowa 6 1/2 back and the Cubs .5 back.
And actually ahead in the loss column. \:D/

i can't contain my excitement that HENRY BLANCO hit a home run for peoria

BLANCOWNED!

Iowa won 6-1. Cotts gave up the lone run. Jake Fox hit his 1st HR with Iowa and also doubled. Carlos Rojas was a homer shy of the cycle. Simokaitis also had three hits. EPatt, Felix, and Soto were each 0/5.

the Chiefs game was *really* exciting today. The Blanco homerun was an absolute shot, and he hit another a couple innings later to almost exactly the same part of the park, just didn't quite get it all.

More importantly, the Chiefs came back from giving up 3 runs in the top of the 10th. Dayton has been so tough this series that I was definitely nervious. It was very exciting to watch and makes me sorry that the boys are headed to MI for a week to play tough West MI and Lansing teams. We are still ahead of Quad Cities for the division lead by 1/2 game though - keep up the good work Chiefs! :D
