Wow, the Cardinals fans think they have a chance at actually winning the division this year.

...although, they play the Nationals and Pirates after the Brewers leave town.

:?

Dont they have the pads first?

So how much do AAA players make? When a player gets called up to the big leagues, he gets a prorated portion of the major league minimum correct?

Yes, and after they get sent down they receive a higher minor league salary, if I'm not mistaken.

Nope. However, they go to Pittsburgh and Washington.

I dunno, the Cardinals could be 10 games out of 1st with 10 games left and I'd still be worried they'd somehow pull it off.

I hate having to cheer for them.

You gotta have hope if you are a team who is not quite sellers but not quite buyers. I seem to remember fans having hope into September that the Cubs would get hot and make a playoff run in 2005.

3-1 Cards mid 4. How demoralizing would it be for the Crew to get swept in this doubleheader? The first game had to really be tough. :P :P

I'd love for the Cardinals to perpetually be in that state so that they will never scrap the team, start over, and rebuild. Their pitching staff is a mess and everyone on the team is getting old and injured.

If they can stay that way for the rest of the century, all the better. :D

Just got in and was very please when I checked the score. After reading the game thread yesterday after the loss I was almost convinced this was an automatic loss the way people were talking about Harang like he was unbeatable and just hoping to avoid a sweep.

Harang left with an injury or this could be closer.

Happily, his stuff was terrible in the inning he pitched and he had to leave with back pain.
