Who here would trade Pie for Dunn straight up?

Reds44 said that he would not for Dunn and I'm riding the fence. It would be a big loss IMO if we couldn't sign Dunn long term. If we sign him long term then I'm OK with it, but with the ownership change I'm not confident that we could.

Agreed with that sentiment. We'd need to be confident we could resign Adam.

Quick question, is there any chance this means absolutely nothing? No callup, no trade, nothing? Because that seems hard to believe.

I dunno, I have a feeling something is happening. Unless we hear later about an injury, but that seems unlikely for it to happen to both of those guys.

Is there any chance? Sure, there is always a chance. However for two guys to both get pulled in the 4th inning of a game that isn't a blowout seems to point to something.

I'll be shocked if this leads to a dead end.

Barring the HIGHLY unlikely chance that both were injured, I would have to say no. This may be a very big night (or next day) for the cubs.

PS- If it's Tex, I'm going to cry.

Agreed. Whether its a callup or a trade, something has to be going on.

Btw, the Reds AAA team pulled their starting pitcher (Phil Dumatrait) after 5 innings and only 55 pitches tonight.

That may be (and probably is) stretching it, but I figured I'd point it out. He could be getting the callup to the Reds to replace a pitcher being traded.

Or he could just be getting called up for some of the waste we have in our bullpen.

Ugh. This sucks. The anticipation is going to kill me, and it probably turns out to be nothing anyways.

I don't know why they would be pulled smack dab in the middle of a game for a call-up.

A trade is more likely.

Whatever is happening, I really hope it gets announced/leaked/whatever sometime really soon. Waiting until tomorrow to hear whatever happened won't be fun.

Well I'm asking Levine...first on after the 10:20 update. I doubt he'll have a clue though.

Alright well if you mention it maybe they will have some rumors to pass out.

Yeah, or worst case maybe he looks into it.

I wonder how far apart time-wise this happened in relation to Pie getting pulled.

DUDE. Ramirez was pulled in the middle of today's game too. They're trading EVERYONE!!

Maybe we traded Jones and Kroger for someone - a bullpen arm, maybe. Pie would come up to take Jones' place...Fox goes to Iowa.

Speculation rocks.

Except Jones played the whole game tonight, so if there was a deal, he wasn't part of it.

Dumatrait was pulled alittle before 8, and Pie and Kroeger were pulled at 8:30.

As I said, the odds are they have nothing to do with each other.

Where would we play Tex? He's only a first base/DH right?

I bet we will end up dissapointed.

Absolutely. It's funny how hopeful we are for a good trade.
