Griffey AND Harang.

I just thought about that last night as he went TEN Strong innings against the brewers....

He's 5 years in so I'm not sure how much longer hes under control, but I think I'd go something like Murton, Pie, Gallagher, and Veal.

With the numbers he's putting up this year and likely being under control for a little while it'd really give us a shot this year.

Harang signed an extension in the offseason: 4/$36.5 with an option for a fifth year at $12.75m or a $2m buyout.

Considering his production in relation to his cost, it'd take quite a bit to take him off Cincy's hands, imo.

Ah...wasn't aware of the extension...yeah, considering his production it'd take a ton to get him.

even before his run of awesome-ness, I would have very serious doubts that the reds would trade harang. the reds have no pitching.

Pie and Hill and maybe a lower level prospect. Griffey has a few years (games?) left in him and Harang is very solid, but how much of an upgrade is he over Hill, really, considering their contract situations.

I'd rather just pony up and sign Z to a long term extension and rough it with Pie or Murton in the outfield.

The Reds would be out of their mind to trade Harang.

There's no chance that they do.

I agree with your first point, but am unconvinced of the second. ;)

major league GMs will never stop surprising me...
