It's time to let go folks. He's never going to be a Cub again. Nothing he's done since leaving the Cubs, quite literally, warrants his return - no matter how quiet his yap has been since leaving.

He doesn't deserve to be on this team comprised of the anti-Sammy. These guys play good, sound baseball and play the game the way it's supposed to be played. That's what brought them back from 8.5 games. There's not a selfish player on this team.

LOU CHANGED THE CULTURE FOR A REASON. It's because of LOSERS like Sosa that this change was needed on the North Side. It's completely contradictory to think that Sammy makes any sense with this group of players or with the man who has led them to this point - and to me - it's a bit of an insult.

Stupid Loser Sosa playing at a HOF level for us.

LOSER.

Are you resorting to name-calling now? I'm sorry the guy who never won anything isn't a loser. He's just a CHEATER. That's not open for debate.

You can't be serious.

This argument is absurd. Do you think that "loser" Sammy Sosa in his prime (1998-2002) would not help this team?

If you don't, I'm not sure what to say.

How many teams did he help in that period? How many times was LOSER Sammy in the playoffs?

More times than those losers Santo, Williams, Banks, Jenkins. Just as many times as that hack Sandberg.

But yeah, keep the logic train rolling.

Or you could come up with a counterargument based on facts instead of a bunch of overused cliches....

Ok, cool. I'm going to go overcompensate for your absence.

It's certainly better than the "I hate Sosa and can't handle that others don't agree with me" board.

And 66. And 64.

And got the Cubs to the postseason twice.

Stupid loser. He should have choked in front of baby boomers in the 60's. Then he'd be a legend.

I didn't read this thread, but I'm going to assume the people that like sammy are ridiculing those that don't in a holier than thou manner.

Your assumption is wrong.

You should probably read the thread then.

The one thing posters on this board should understand is that regardless of differing opinions, fact- and stat-based logic will always triumph over Joe Morgan style logic.

It's unbelievable to me that someone would even suggest that the reason those teams didn't win was because of Sammy. I can't even begin to understand what in the hell is going through someone's head that would produce that asinine conclusion.

I mean, Sosa carried some otherwise sub-mediocre teams to the playoffs, and kept others in the hunt.

LOOK AT WHAT HE HAD AROUND HIM FOR FREAK'S SAKE....

But Joe Morgan style logic is so much more fun.

Joe Carter logic is day-long entertainment.

Not really. You should read the thread. It's pretty funny.
