I agree this is a problem. how about a once monthly draft of minor leaguers? We'll run it through the waivers process the first waivers of each month - can every one keep up with that? I'll send a reminder a few days beforehand.

So this batch of minor leaguers would be dealt with during the first week of August? (I ask because I am headed to India on Tuesday and won't be able to access Roadkill till the 29th).

this batch will run on the next waivers. put your requests in before you leave.

I'm fine with the monthly waivers process. I also think that since Tim is putting the players back in the pool he should be able to get back the players he dropped to make room for them without the dropped players having to clear waivers first.

Too bad Sportsline doesn't include new players added to the database in the daily e-mail reports. That would make it easier to keep up with.

Do we just want to use this thread to notify the league when a new player comes available and someone notices?

no, you can look them up yourselves.

Snyder is still on NSBB roster... does he go back into the database?

What I talked about with Juan is that Snyder and Chamberlain should work just the same as normal, since they came into the db just like any number of other existing minor leaguers. It's really the 2007 draftees that made this situation exceptional. So for the good of the league, I volunteered to drop those guys.

It seemed the most fair way to handle things for everyone.

Agreed. But, because the problem is only players from the June draft, once a month waivers shouldn't really be needed. At least I don't see a reason to do once a month waivers. Just do it when the database is stocked up with the June draft players and let everyone else be signed as a free agent like normal.

I'm fine with however you all want to do it, but that's just my opinion on the best way to handle this.

Well, then you need to search the database weekly instead of monthly - that's my thinking.

At the risk of looking like a complete moron, how does one put in requests?

heh, that's a good point. I forgot that the players wouldn't be on waivers anymore - unless someone picked them up last time. we'll have to put requests in manually. Perhaps pinghitter will collect them for us?

Is there a limit to the number of players we can request?

Do you want us to PM you with requests for all new additions to the database, or just those who have cleared waivers and become free agents? In other words, should we PM you if we're interested in some of the players Tim picked up and dropped, or should we claim them through the normal process (since they're back on waivers again)?

I believe there would be a limit of 10, since that's the maximum minor league roster size. Otherwise (and I'm sure Juan will mention if I'm wrong) I don't think there is a limit, but I think you'd need to prioritize the order of your picks so that he knows which player to give you first when your turn comes up.

What I did was send a PM to Juan that listed the players I was interested in, and in the order in which I would want them if they are available at my turn to pick. I also specified how many I was willing to pick up and who I would drop if I get any of the requested players.

Of course, I went into a bit more detail because I won't be in town during the waiver process.

Sounds like a plan, that's what I'll do.

Bangalore...3000 feet up will help. The monsoon and humidity is going to kick my ass.

can't we just put claims in on these guys at the site?
Other than the players Tim picked up and dropped again, the players would have cleared waivers and become free agents by now if we were to do it the regular way.
