Please everyone, don't vote for Carlos Zambrano in the 26th man vote. Although he has all-star talent, he simply doesn't deserve a spot on that team over the rest of the people on that list. The fact that LaRussa even put him on the list is pretty much a joke and plays up the "Joe Morgan wins are everything despite a brutal ERA bandwagon" and frankly, that's terrible.

I know we all hate Chris Young right now, but he has had twice the season that Carlos has. If you are a real baseball fan and want to see the best players in the game, vote for him. If Z gets voted in, it would be just another reason why Cubs fans look like morons.

Hopefully Z can be inspired to win the World Series MVP or something like that instead.

I think a better reason would be because you dont want to see Z throw in a meaningless game when we have a lot of important ones coming up....that being said...I still hope he makes it.

It's a matter of whether you vote on All Stars based on the entire current season that they are having or whether you vote on All Stars based on the most talented players in the game. No one really knows why Z sucked in April and May. But everyone knows that Carlos is one of the most talent pitchers in the game when his head is on straight. Here are the numbers for his last 5 starts:

4-1, 1.43 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 43K, 10.3 K/9IP

Carlos has All Star talent. Do I think Chris Young deserves it over Z? Yes. But would I think its unjust if Z got voted in? no.

I would rather his arm/shoulder get a nice little vacation. I would also like to him to get a chip on his shoulder by not being voted in or picked by the manager.

Big Z - Show the league you're one of the best starters in the game and dominate the entire second half!!

I'm in this camp... well minus the "I still hope he makes it" sentiment. I think it's best that Z does not go... hopefully not going would light a fire under him for the second half and prevent him from getting hurt in this "exhibition," because Carlos has a way of doing stupid things that could get him hurt... like the fungo bat to the elbow last year.
